Large Food Service Distributor Cuts
Costs Thanks to Western Abrasives
One of our primary goals is helping our customers to meet
their goals by improving processes and cutting costs.
Recently, we helped one of our customers, a large food
service distributor, solve a problem involving the removal
and blending of welds and smoothing a final finish on one
of their stainless steel food processing vessels. They
had been using large quantities of two separate ½" coated
abrasive belts, resulting in high material and labor costs.
We were successful in introducing them to a resin mounted
point to remove the weld more efficiently, along with
a rubber mounted point for the final finish. The change
to Western Abrasives resulted in a substantial cost savings.
The savings came from using fewer materials, less operator
time changing belts and less grinding time which resulted
in an improved final finish. The change to Western Abrasives

New From Western Abrasives - 'Fiber
Max' From the Western
Abrasives research and development laboratory comes our
latest development in Fiber Mounted Points, the 'Fiber
Max.' The results from our recently completed field testing
indicate much faster removal with the expected finish
of a Fiber abrasive. The 'Fiber Max' fills the gap between
the softer resin and harder standard fiber mounted point,
a problem area in the industry for quite some time. The
'Fiber Max' is now available. Contact us with your specific
application and we will build one for you. |
